My wife Susan and I attended our son’s wedding last summer and when we saw our photos from this event, we knew it was time for a change. Since I retired from the military 10 years ago, my wife and I had pretty much settled into a sedentary lifestyle. Before long, I was very overweight with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, borderline sleep apnea, and a general lack of energy and fatigue. I was taking medications to keep these issues in check. Susan was also overweight with a degenerative disk in her lower back which was painful at times. We needed to make a change in our lives and began a search for a new fitness program. We knew we needed a facility without gimmicks where you go to work hard, be accountable, and get the results we were seeking. We found this very facility at Champions Fitness Club. Susan and I met with Personal Trainer Lisa Lambert at Champions on November 1, 2010. After a health assessment and fitness goal interview, Lisa set a strength training program for Susan and I based on our fitness goals which was to lose weight, gain the skills to function in a gym setting, personal accountability, and program follow up. Six months have passed since our initial meeting with Lisa. I have lost 45 pounds, and have lowered all of my numbers so much that my doctor has removed me from all of my cholesterol and blood pressure medications. Susan has also had excellent results too! She has lost 20 pounds and has gone from a size 14 to a size 10 and feels great. I have been a member of other gyms and Susan has tried other workout regimens. We both had little or no success in maintaining any real results. Since joining Champions, having a personal trainer gave us a sense of accountability which has made all the difference. Meeting with Lisa every six to eight weeks to monitor our progress has made all the difference to us. All of the trainers and staff have even been very helpful when we needed assistance with our workouts. Thank you Champions!”
